I have been enthusiastic about ePortfolios as a showcase for a long time, but was struck by a comment made by Helen Barrett at FETC:

Portfolios are as much about the CONVERSATION...

This dovetailed well with my own FETC presentation: http://go.thomasho.co/CS5548 where I show how we can have digital conversations with our students which tell the 'story' of their (and OUR) learning!

Let me know if I can help you figure out how to use those Chromebooks to do so! In my own personal experience, Diigo social bookmarking will work much better on a Chromebook than an iPad!DrThomasHohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03968669442483652683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7542978543085200233.post-71191379156271416612012-01-09T09:10:25.733-06:002012-01-09T09:10:25.733-06:00I thought this clip did a good job bridging the ge...I thought this clip did a good job bridging the generational differences in technology as well as showing the need for a positive digital footprint. With Leyden going 1:1, I also feel we have a responsibility for teaching students the importance and impact of their footprint, and how it could impact their near future.Valarie Bergerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10392582650162255182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7542978543085200233.post-90659572935164658632011-12-22T20:46:13.905-06:002011-12-22T20:46:13.905-06:00Let me start by saying I watched this multiple tim...Let me start by saying I watched this multiple times. This made me reflect on my teaching and how important it is to bridge the gap between our classrooms and the world our students enter when they leave. Last semester I tossed around the idea of eportfolios. This really inspires me to make it happen in 2012. My goal is to have my students create something that is truly useful, not just something they build to earn a grade. I'm thinking Google Sites. Here is a site I've found useful so far for eporfolios with Google Apps.

https://sites.google.com/site/eportfolioapps/Home

This is a really great clip Bryan. You should post it on Leyden's Digital Evolution Site. It might inspire others!Mrs. Dieboldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15547339573457271598noreply@blogger.com
