Use SoapBox to help foster student engagement

Thanks to the Free Technology for Teachers blog I learned about SoapBox, a new tool that could help foster student engagement during class. While this tool is still in beta (i.e. development), it looks promising. Some of the features included are:

  • Students can post questions
  • Students can rank questions
  • A confusion barometer
  • Teachers can poll their students
  • Teachers and students can respond to questions after class

- While SoapBox may be best suited for a lab class or in a 1:1 environment, the ability exists for students to use any internet enabled device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) to gain access and log in.
